In this episode of our Experimental PA-18 Super Cub build, we keep pushing the fuselage forward with some big progress. I fitted the front floor (had to pull the stick for better access and sand it for proper clearance), designed and 3D-printed a custom tapered subfloor to solve the frame gap issue, installed the flap handle with cable routing and fair lead, mocked up the carbon fiber dash for the Garmin G3X, test-fitted the boot cowling, installed the rudder pedals and Beringer brakes, mounted the baby bush tailwheel with titanium spring, upgraded the door panel to 0.032" sheet, and finally mocked up the landing gear with the big 35" tires using the engine hoist. Lots of problem-solving, fabrication, and a clean 3D-printing solution that saved time and weight.
